Are you a blogging maniac?

Sometimes I struggle to keep up with writing regularly on my three blogs, attending to my non-blogging writing, reading my emails, doing research on the internet and remembering to have a life. Oh – and do the gardening too.
It was in that context that I identified with Tammy on her Jewelry and Beading post called “Become a Blogging Maniac“. She describes her demanding writing schedule, writing four blogs, magazine articles, writing books, working part-time.

Tammy explains some helpful hints in her article on the following topics:

  • How to schedule your day/week
  • Using warm-up exercises to keep your writing voice in trim
  • The importance of immersing yourself in your topic
  • Daily maintenance of you blog(s)

She makes some very valuable points.

How to improve your blog

Neil Patel over at his Pronet Advertising blog has posted an interesting article called 5 Ways to Building a Better Blog.

Neil highlights the importance of writing quality content on your blog. He also emphasises the need to look after readers of you blog.

New Writing Project

Darren Rowse on ProBlogger has done it again. He has challenged readers to a new Group Writing Project.

This time the challenge is to write and post a new “How to..” article and send the link to him. I was writing an article on my birding blog and realised half way through how to turn it into a “How To” article. I wrote an article on how to deal with aggressive birds. This is timely here in Australia, with many birds in breeding mode. In particular, Australian Magpies can be very aggressive towards anyone who wanders near their nest.
An added bonus – Darren has arranged for about $1800 worth of prizes for this writing project.

Short Fiction #13 First colour

First Colour

Penelope screamed.

Alistair dropped the paper and ran towards her.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“LOOK!” she shouted.

Alistair followed her pointing finger.

“Well, I’ll be…”

“Isn’t it absolutely beautiful?” she gushed.

“It certainly is colourful,” he agreed.

They drew closer, eyes wide in amazement.

“Our very first rose,” she whispered.
