Seven More Short Story Starters

A few days ago I wrote a list of seven short story starters for anyone with writer’s block to use. I hope they inspired someone to write an absolutely wonderful story or two or seven.

Here is another seven more short story starters for your consideration.

Seven More Short Story Starters +1

  1. Peter wondered what would happen if he pressed the green button.
  2. Annie was devastated. How could she go on knowing what had happened to her friend.
  3. Roger could hear terrified yelping coming from the near the back door.
  4. The bright light blinded Karen momentarily, just before she fainted.
  5. Corey could hardly believe his eyes.
  6. Felicity stopped. This was not normal. She stared at the open window.
  7. Frank’s eyes flickered. A sharp pain jabbed through his eyes. He sat up, not understanding what he was looking at.
  • Bonus idea: “I can’t see anything,” sobbed Anita.

Shouldn’t it be “Peter wondered what would happen if HE pressed the green button”? Or am I reading it wrong.

      Ooooops.

Thanks for that Alexa. I’ve now fixed it.

I find it amazing how the little words sometimes disappear. It just shows how important proofreading is, and how vital to get someone else to have a look at your writing before submitting. That’s one of the issues I have with this blog – I don’t have an independent proof reader. And it’s really great when people like yourself gently point out my errors or omissions.

      Thanks again.

Hi. I’m currenty trying to write a LONG story. I’m calling it the last champion and the blurb would be:
Only the best will survive but the question remains will Katniss survive or will she make the ultimate sacrifice for the one she loves? Any good ideas? Maybe a few starters. Thanks 🙂
