Poem #43 Wedge-tailed Eagle

Wedge-tailed Eagle

Wedge-tailed Eagle

Imagine
How awesome
To soar over mountains and valleys,
To rise majestically
On thermal currents
Transported effortlessly
Over a patchwork quilt
Landscape.

lovely poem, Trevor; read it a few times; can’t help thinking how it would look if it were a tanka

      Thanks John.

I had a go at rewriting it as a tanka but there are too many syllables in the original to trim down and still keep the intent of the original. Nice thought though. This was the best I could come up with:

      Just think how awesome 5
Soaring o’er mountains and vales, 7
      Majestically 5
      Rising on thermal currents. 7
